Opened the tin and the citrus scent came through before I even got it on the bread—the lemon is fresh, not artificial. The garlic and parsley sit underneath it nicely, so it’s not overpowering. Went straight onto a simple salad and it carried the whole plate.
The lemon and garlic hit is bright but not sharp, and the fish stays moist and firm right out of the tin. I tossed them on a simple green salad with a slice of crusty bread and it felt like a proper little meal. The parsley adds just enough freshness to keep it from being one-note.
The lemon and garlic flavors come through really clearly without overpowering the sardines themselves. I spread them on some crusty bread for lunch and the whole tin was gone before I knew it, they’d be great on a tapas board too.
